In December 1995 the pharma company I was working for was purchased and like most of my colleagues in Rochester, NY our jobs were gone. The idea of owning a business had always been present but it wasn’t until then that I seriously contemplated starIng my own company.

After considering all my options I decided to start Caswood a Contract Sales Organization (CSO) for pharmaceutical and biotech companies. The niche would be to build specialty sales teams.

It was March of 1996 when The Caswood Group Inc., a women own business, was formed. The business started without any projects on hand and needless to say the first year was difficult.

This year we are celebrating Caswood’s 25th Anniversary. It has been an incredible journey with all the good and interesting moments that come with building a business. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BSL) only 25% of new businesses make it to 15 years or more. Caswood would have not reached the 25th anniversary without the help of our employees.

I’m grateful to all the dedicated teams of field and inside sales professionals whose commitment and hard work have helped Caswood to be the successful company that it is today. I’m also grateful to the group of employees, who, working together in unison, keep Caswood’s core business running smoothly.

Most of all, I want to say thank you to all our clients who throughout the years have trusted Caswood and given us their business. Without our clients, there would be no Caswood.

2020 has been a challenging year and, either by choice or by need, it has forced businesses to rethink strategies to overcome adversity. It is said that challenges build resilience, it is with persistence and good judgment that we are looking forward to a better 2021.
